The Front Office module can operate in an off-line or on-line mode at the Retail Store front. At the start of a business day, the Price Look Up (PLU) file – which includes Bar Codes, special discounts, promotions, etc., is uploaded into the Front Office module - from the Back Office module. At the end of each Day, the Day End files are downloaded from Front Office module to the Back Office module.
The Cashier function emulates all the hard key functions of a conventional Point-of-Sale machine, by providing software driven options instead. The Front Office module generates a variety of reports which give management effective control on Retail Store front operations.
The Front Office module operates on industry standard Personal Computer Systems and Point-of-Sale compatible terminals, in a single-user mode. It has SQL Server 2005 as the RDBMS back-end and VB.NET Win APP. as the front-end
Cashier.net can handle the following scenarios:
1) Cashier.net – Stand Alone
In this case you are installing Cashier.net on a single location with single or multiple POS. Item details are entered in the item master with price discount etc. The data is immediately available for the POS to do daily transaction. Transaction reports are available for the day and for a period.
2) Cashier.net – Multi - Location
If you are having multiple locations, items are created at the backend in Our Integration module and transferred to the POS machines in XML format. In this case the prices shall be same across all locations.
Data transfer is one way (Only for the master data towards the POS)
3) Cashier.net – Using 3 rd party Inventory/Stores Application
We use the most common and easly convertible data format for all data transfers. You can export your master data from your ERP or Inventory Package (currently used if Any) to XML format and pass to POS machine. This data master data will be used to do daily transactions.
Dayend Process creates Dayend Files again in XML format which can be updated by your Inventory package or ERP Which ever is applicable.
4) Cashier.net – Using Our Inventory/Stores Application
In this case the backend is the Our proprietary inventory system. Item master is created in the inventory system all inventory transactions like Purchase, Sales, Stores are available in this system. The sales data from the point of sale gets updated into this inventory system. Additional sales like wholesale which cannot be entered from the POS can be entered from here. And all types of sales analysis is possible location wise. |
